Brand Building Process

Brand building process

Building a brand is much more than having a cool logo or an engaging social media post.

Brand building is a process.

It generates awareness about your business using marketing strategies and activities with the goal of creating a unique and lasting impact with your target customers. In other words, to let the world know about your business and make each person remember it.

Positive impression + standing out = brand success.

The promotion of your brand can be done effectively with various marketing activities including:

  • User Experience (e.g. your website)
  • Content & Social Media Marketing
  • In-person and Online Networking
  • Livery (inc signage and vehicle graphics) & Uniforms
  • Business Cards and other Printed and Promotional Materials.

Together, these tools can help you expand brand awareness and grow your business.
We have created an easy-to-follow brand building process, to help you develop your business or personal brand

Unsure where to start? Below are the things you need to work on to build a successful brand.

How do you build a brand?

1. The purpose behind your brand

Successful brands have a clear purpose behind them. It’s what connects your business to your customers.

2. Competitor research

You should never copy exactly what’s been done before, but you should be aware of what’s been done well (and what has failed). Your goal is to stand out from the competition.

3. Know your target audience

The foundation for brand building is to determine the target audience that you’ll be focusing on. You can’t be everything to everyone. The more defined your target audience is, the better your results will be.

4. Establish a brand mission statement

It’s important to have a clear written mission statement of what your company is most passionate about. This is your why; the reason your business exists.

5. Key qualities & benefits of your brand offering

Your products, services, and benefits belong solely to you. Building a brand that is memorable means you work out what you offer, and why you offer it, and this will differentiate you from the competition.

Focus on your target audience is (see Step 3), give them a reason to choose your brand over another.

6. Develop your brand voice.

Your voice is dictated by your company’s mission, audience, and industry. It’s how you talk and communicate with your customers, and how they respond to you.

7. Show your personality

Customers aren’t looking for another company that offers the same thing as everyone else. They are looking for an experience tailored to their needs, backed by a genuine connection.

8. Brand story and messaging

When brand building, tell customers who you are. Use the voice you have created for your brand and keep your message consistent.

9. Brand logo & tagline

When you think about brand building visuals probably come to mind first. The most exciting (and probably the most important piece) of the brand building process, is to create a brand logo and tagline for your company.

10. Integrate your brand into every aspect of your business

Brand building is a continual process and never stops. Your brand should be visible and reflected in everything that your customer can see, hear, and feel!
